Presidents Cup

A week when a VAST majority of the golf world is sour, upset, negative, and quite frankly, ignorant.

"The Presidents Cup is no Ryder Cup." "The Presidents Cup is BORING." "The Presidents Cup has no juice." BLAH BLAH BLAH

If you could bear to watch through the abysmal number of commercials, the 2026 Presidents Cup was nothing short of ELECTRIC.
​
Team USA gets fleeced on day 2... alternate shot... Who is surprised? Not me. Turns around and does what they need to do in the Saturday Sessions, then dominates Head-to-Heads on Sunday.

Jackson Koivun. I have nothing to say except to every hater who was moaning and groaning about Capt. Sneds taking Koivun over Spaun, PLEASE pipe down. WAR DAMN.
​
But my qualm with the negativity is that not every event needs to be the Ryder Cup or The Masters. I understand that Team USA has dominated the Presidents Cup for the last 10 years, but when we get the chance to have team golf, it is exciting. That goes for the Solheim Cup, the Walker Cup, the Presidents Cup, and the Ryder Cup.

It seems we've forgotten that we had 24 incredible golfers out there fighting for their countries. THAT IS FUN... and if you do not agree with me, well, that is okay too!

Tom Kim

He might be the most electrifying team golfer we have ever watched.

He truly just cares.

And... what a TON of people fail to realize is everything Tom has going on behind the scenes right now...

First off, he finished with 4 points for the International Team, an absolutely MONSTER WEEK.

But after he beat Wyndham Clark in their head-to-head match, 3&2, he hopped on a flight to the Asian Games to fight for a gold medal so he does not have to pause his golf career for 2 years... yes, 2 years...

Tom Kim is just 24 years old, has won 4 times on the PGA Tour, and is showing everyone he has what it takes to be great.

But he is a South Korean man. Under South Korean law, most able-bodied men must perform 18 to 21 months of military service. Special exemptions, however, are granted to both athletes and classical artists who excel in international competitions.

He did not mention this all week at the Presidents Cup because he was focused on the task at hand. But this next task at the Asian Games will be his second-to-last opportunity to secure a special exemption from serving in the South Korean military.

Off-Season

What is coming up this off season? WHO KNOWS...

LIV seems to be in a stalemate... imagine that.
​
TGL will be returning with the new league, the WTGL, featuring some of the best women in the world.
​
But I would expect to see and hear a ton of updates from LIV Golf very shortly, and hopefully we start to see Rolapp (CEO PGAT) roll out some new plans for LIV players to return.

Final Thoughts

This 2026 season was absolutely incredible. I am pumped for the game of golf right now. It is in a really, really cool space.

I would love for the 2027 broadcasts not to be so incredibly PAINFUL to watch, but we all know that will not happen.
